Christmas Craft Club Day

For those who follow my Facebook page or Instagram you probably already know that I like to lead 4-H Clubs in my area. This year I led the Horse & Pony Club, Miniature Horse Club, Scrapbook & Card Making Club and now we are just starting the Christmas Crafts Club. Today was our first meeting and we spent the chilly day outside staining and painting. But there weren't many complaints at all because the kids loved the activities that we had planned and really enjoyed making their projects.

I thought we would start with a project that would easily fill the three hours and continue on to the next meeting. I'm so please because that's exactly what's happened. I tasked the kids to make the lovely scarecrow and snowman porch signs that I make.

Once the parents saw the project I had planned they instantly loved it. They asked for their children to give it to them when it was complete.  It was awesome. I loved hearing that. I knew there would be a lot of down time for the drying of the stain so the second project that I planned was a three canvas wall hanging. This project was freehand so they could use their own artistic creativity. And each child had their own unique style. Sadly I didn't get photos of their finished wall hanging. And of course we aren't done their porch signs yet. But I will be sure to take photos when they complete them. Sadly, you'll have to wait 2 weeks for that though.
The kids really enjoyed the first meeting. I really look forward to our second meeting I certainly hope they enjoy what I have planned for next time. It's going to be pretty crazy fun! I'm super excited. I have many plans to make different things each meeting. This time we worked with wood, canvas and paint so I really don't want to do that again. I am looking forward to other projects. And thoroughly hope they enjoy them all. Stay tuned to see what else we're crafting up for Christmas.
