Bring me a drink....

I had no idea when I made the first few pairs of these socks that they would be so loved. I have had so many awesome comments about them and a few people have ordered a couple of pairs. I'm so thrilled that they are so well loved. I know that I really like them. I've made myself a "beer" pair and a "whisky" pair... It's okay, I'm Canadian I am allowed to spell it without the "e". Although, for a split second I thought I made a mistake. A lot of the spelling that I use is "the American way" which I'm sure those who've followed my blogs over the past 6-7 years have noticed that. Ooops.
Some people are so creative with what they want their feet to say "DINNER", "COFFEE", "CHOCOLATE", one lady even asked it to say "WATER" now there's dedication. My daughter wants a pair that says "bring me a taco". Me, I'll stick to my whisky. What would you want your socks to say? Please leave a comment below letting me know. Of course "beer" and "wine" are what started this whole thing so I'm curious, would you ask for either of those or something different? Don't be shy, please, share your thoughts!!!

If you're interested in ordering either the "Bring me a drink" or "Bring me food" socks please click on their names and follow the link to the website. We would be happy to fill an order for you.

Living In Color Art Therapy ~Giveaway~

Has anyone noticed that "Art Therapy" seems to be an exciting thing right now? I personally have always enjoyed coloring, ever since I was a young girl and although growing up I never really saw it as being therapeutic, I definitely see that now. Nowadays you have posters and pictures, coloring books and so much more that are geared towards adults, and yes there are still many for children too.

Our oldest two daughters actually gave each other big posters last year for Christmas, it was kind of funny actually, they did pick different posters but it was still funny. So, I decided that Payette Custom Creations is going to be getting some stock in that will include some Art Therapy Greeting Cards, Washi Tape, and Tags... How exciting!! I mean I know I'm very excited.

I'm pretty excited to bring these to the store because I know that I get the urge some times to sit back and relax, in the tub with candles, okay well maybe not. My four wouldn't let me be alone long enough to have a bath, 5 minutes in the shower is more than enough for mommy... Anyone else run into this issue with children? I thought they were supposed to grow out of it eventually but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon in my house.... So, my relaxing comes in the form of sitting on the front deck after the children have all gone to sleep and I just get to take in the cool August night. The sun setting, the smell of brisk air. That's exactly where I love to spend my nights, and definitely how I like to relax, just me and the nice breeze. Especially lately, we've been having some pretty hot days these past two weeks or so. So, that's my relaxation time. Sometimes I will doodle, I always loved to draw. And other times I'll get right back to work... how about you? How do you like to relax? Leave a comment below letting me know, it counts as one entry into this awesome giveaway...

These items will all be in stock by Mid-September but I thought I would offer a giveaway for some of these exciting new items. I will give away 8 different random packs, sorry you don't get to choose. Each giveaway pack will include one (1) random pack of greeting cards, one (1) random pack of tags and one (1) random washi tape roll. Each Art Therapy Pack is valued just over $7.00 Canadian.

Good luck to everyone who enters (Rafflecopter Giveaway Widget Below)
:) Happy Crafting!

Thank You For Your Support

Okay, so I do not have a lot of the products in stock yet that I would like to have.... yet being the word to remember here... they will be coming I just don't know when at the moment. I have wanted to get so many different items in the store but being unsure if they will sell or not makes it difficult to decide what to bring in. Yesterday a couple of ladies stopped into the store to see what we had in stock and I felt horrible..... I didn't have what they were looking for in stock yet. One of my biggest challenges since I have branched out to include scrapbook supplies into the store is knowing what to order in first. I know there are scrappers and card makers out there and I know they are like me and want everything; paper, embossing folders, stickers, dies, stamps (I need every stamp ever created!) and so much more. But what order do I get them in? I've got stickers, embossing folders, washi tape, other tapes, I have a few stamps, dies, machines coming but will they sell? It's so hard to know what to get in first. Which is why I offer items for pre-order. That way I know what to order for my customers, you tell me ahead of time and I order it and some more just because I want to have a variety :)

One of the problems I was faced with in the first month of the store's official opening was getting stock because of the Canada Post's back and forth mail strike threat, now that seems to be in the past so hopefully it doesn't happen again. And then there is the biggest problem facing me at the moment: the Canadian Dollar. For the companies I have that are Canadian there is no issue with the dollar, it is what it is. But lets face it, it's down and it's not coming back up for awhile. And a lot of scrapbook manufacturers and companies that I deal with are in the USA. With the dollar not what it once was I'm not able to get as much product because I'm spending more to buy less of the items themselves, then the shipping charges cost more, the duty costs more. All in all doing business with the US costs more right now. But despite all of that, I still keep my prices at the MSRP. For the products I get from the US I take their MSRP and I convert that into Canadian funds. I don't add anything more to it, I simply convert the value to Canadian, no gimmicks, no hidden charges...
The only time you will see the price more than just the exchange is in our Webstore. We have started offering "Free Shipping" in order to do that we made the decision to raise the cost of the items slightly to offset the cost of shipping. If you opt to use the PICKUP code online then 5% is deducted from your order before checking out, then you simply have to wait for your email letting you know that your order is packaged up and ready for pick up in our store.

I want to always conduct an honest business and I want people to know that the items purchased here are not marked up like so many places. They are the value they should be. Many of the stamp companies that I deal with have very strict rules to prevent price gouging, I really like dealing with those companies, we're in the same state of thinking and that means a lot to me. And even though the dollar is not too good right now, I'm not going to make my customers pay more just because I had to pay more. I chalk it up to the cost of doing business. If I get deals and discounts I like to pass those on to my customers as well. Why wouldn't everyone being do this for their customers? It seems to make perfect business sense to me.

I guess for me the thing is that I'm not in this to get rich, that would be great of course but not what it's about for me. I'm in this to provide quality products to people just like me who want to craft and be able to find products to craft with. Whether for business or pleasure; I want to help people find the products they need at prices they can afford. That's what it's all about for me here at Payette Custom Creations. So, if you think my prices are too high, I am sorry for that, but they are right where they are supposed to be as per the Manufacturer/Company.

As always I want to say thank you to all of those who continue to support our small Canadian Family Owned Business by shopping locally, within Canada, and for spreading the word. I appreciate the referrals to your friends and family, it means a lot to us. If there is anything we can do to help get you the scrapbook supplies you're looking for please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to helping you put your memories to paper.

Neodymium magnets are very brittle and very strong magnetically. Therefore, it is crucial to handle these magnets with extreme care to avoid personal injury and damage to the magnets. Fingers can be severely pinched between attracting magnets. Magnets can chip if allowed to “jump at” an attracting object. It is highly recommended that when constructing rare earth magnetic assemblies, they be magnetized after assembly.

Because of their brittle nature, magnets will not be warrantied, replaced, returned, or exchanged.

Each MISTI contains: As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

Its simple hinge design provides consistent stamping for the novice or experienced crafter. It will accommodate both the red rubber cling mount stamps and clear stamp. MISTI will provide a platform for multiple stamp techniques. It offers the ability to use magnets to help positioning. (2 Magnets and foam insert are included)

Payette Custom Creations On Facebook

Well, I have decided to start a new Facebook page for just the Scrapbook Supplies, eventually there will be other craft supplies. I started to feel that maybe some people weren't too happy to all of a sudden be bombarded with Supplies. I mean really, they "Like" my page to see all of the handmade, custom, personalized goodies and then BAM in 2016 it's stamps, stickers, die cuts, folders, glue, adhesive and it's a bunch of Lawn Fawn, Tom Holtz, Momenta, EK Tools and more. Some of these lovely fans don't craft and they don't care to hear about or see these posts and I understand that. So, I felt the right thing to do was start a new page. That's right we have two Facebook Business Pages now. Payette Custom Creations will be displaying only handmade gifts and Payette Custom Creations Supplies will, well, be displaying supplies :) I hope no one left the page over the past few months because of this. But the issue is now resolved. So if you want gifts go HERE and if you want supplies go HERE, and if you want both well go HERE and HERE!! :)

I am still slowly working on the webstore so that you will be able to go there for everything but until I get it filled up please feel free to email us or message on Facebook to order items. As always you can order on line and pick up in store for free (well the products still cost the same but no shipping!!!)

Have a great night everyone! Happy Crafting.

The KMFRC Rep Shirts

Well, they are back for more. I feel honored, I really do.
The KMFRC has ordered a few more t-shirts for their family reps (the green ones below). I have had the extreme pleasure to make them a few t-shirts in the past. There were the ones for the Commando Challenge (Above picture) for the spouses to feel what their husband's go through from time to time and of course the last order of lime green network shirts. Now they are needing some more. There could be a couple of different reasons for this need, they could have gotten some new reps or some may have been posted since it is posting season. I know that for at least one they were posted out. She's a friend of mine and I really enjoyed having her to talk to. I don't get attached to too many people, but this lady was an instant friend. Our stories are similar and yet so different. I just adore her. Very sad to see her go, but she has a shirt to remember me by :) and I'm sure that we will be posted to the same place again one day. God will definitely bring us together again, just hopefully not at her current location because I don't want to go there. hehe.
One reason I love working for the KMFRC is pretty simple. They helped my children! When my husband was deployed last year we discovered "Deployment Socials" WHAT?! As if that's a thing. But it is. Children with moms and dads who are away and husbands and wives who have been patiently waiting for the current call of duty to be over so their loved ones are home all get together in one place and mix 'n' mingle, tell stories, share happy times, sad times, any times. And the best part... it happens in different rooms, that's right someone watches your children for you (even when you have four) and you get to talk to grown ups. This was a big deal for me. I love that the children got to socialize with other children going through separation and that I got to talk to big people who used big words, it was a big deal!! That is where I met a couple ladies that I have become pretty good friends with and reconnected with a blast from the past :) It really made my 6 months as a "single parent" fly bye. That's a term I really don't like by the way. If my husband's away and you call me a single parent don't be shocked with my lack of shyness in telling you what a messed up thing that is to call someone. Yes, I may be raising my children on my own temporarily but I am not SINGLE. Alone: Yes, Single: No! Anyway, back to the KMFRC, I'm so thankful to the one who told me about the programs there. Until last year it was just a splash pad to us. It is amazing to feel like you actually belong, like all of the emotions that you experience are similar to someone else's and although it doesn't take away the feeling that you're going crazy some days it certainly does help you not feel alone in your crazy moments, it's nice to know there are other crazies just like you out there. How can that not be a fun evening?! Oh and did I mention WE CRAFT!!! That's right, you say child free craft night and I am there. All over that!! We have yet to be back, although I totally plan on it one day.

For more information head to their website, here is a little information from there: The Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC) is a registered non-profit, charitable organization that supports and enhances the health and well-being of the military community. The KMFRC is Kingston's primary agency dedicated to meeting the unique needs of the military community. Programs and services are designed to promote community development and to provide social, educational and volunteer opportunities, empowering the military community and enhancing their health and well-being.

Also, one last note from me. If you're in the Military and have a spouse, if you are said Military spouse, or know someone who is, contact your local MFRC and find out what programs that they have available for you. Do they have Deployment Socials? Do they have one day a month daycare so you can go get groceries, take a show or just go pee by yourself? I'm sure there are programs available for families that they didn't know existed. It's important for your mental health to reach out and be social and who better to do that with then someone who understands what you're going through? Call or go on line today and find out what you can. You'll be happy you did. As for me, I have to get back to making some lime green shirts. Have a great night everyone.

Holidays until August 9th, 2016

Good day everyone, I just wanted to remind everyone that we are on Holidays until August 9th, 2016. The physical store at 668 Bridge St. West in Napanee, On. Canada will be closed until that time. We will still be taking online orders and working on finishing up some new things to go into the store upon the end of Holidays but since July was such a busy time for us with fair prep and 4-H clubs I am taking this week to relax and spent some time with my little ones. We had a great time at the fair all of the kids had fun and we are excited to just relax a little this week. Well, how much relaxing can really be done with four children, right?!

If you want to place an order head to the webstore. I will be busy posting new things as we have a few new suppliers that I'm very, very excited about!
